Default future plans for tranny rebuild

Hello all~
I have a 1997 GT with a 5 speed manual. I've been doing some research, and come spring time I'm gonna put the GT up on stands, and bring the trans into my manual transmission class for a rebuild. This in an effort to save cost and learn at the same time.

Several questions for ya

~Any tips for pulling and installing the transmission? (if there is a forum on this point me to it)

~Any tips on rebuilding the trans itself? I will be doing it in a class with the instructor so it will not be risky, but if anyone has run into anything worth mentioning let me know

~Where is the best place to get a rebuild kit? I'm talking all synchros and seals, bearings, etc. Are there any kits that have stronger synchros?

~Reccomended clutch? I do not plan on doing any heavy engine modification other than simple bolt on intake and exhaust related, in an effort to make maintain reliability. ( don't plan any hardcore racing either) But I want to put in a better clutch while I'm taking everything out. Would a centerforce stage 1 be good? Or what? And where is the best source for a clutch kit? (clutch disk and pressure plate, and throwout bearing?)

I know I ask a lot but I'm new to mustangs, but not cars in general. Thanks in advance!

George

From what I've heard our trannys arent that great. I have an 00gt with the t45 also and supposedly the 3650 is a much better trans. I'd say forget about rebuilding it and swap the new one in.

that's always an option in the future but for now I'm tryin to save cost. I figure I need to take the class and I will use my trans as a guinea pig.... get a fresh trans out of it. It's totally solid just needs a refreshing.
