Default gauge light issue

hey guys,

SO i know this has been talked about ALOT, so far i have read threads that go back to 2002...however, when people got information back then. they never came back and said if it worked or not. So here is my question.

My gauge lights work.....sometimes. when they are on they will flicker alittle. I read a thread where a guy hooked them up so when he hit a switch then they came on, instead of pulling the dimmer switch.

So i'm very inexperienced with electrical work, however, Is it possible to hook up the gauge lights to work off a switch / or hook them up so they stay on permanently.....

please detailed information would be helpful.....

thanks guys

Changing the dimmer switch is super simple and same goes with changing the bulbs

https://video.search.yahoo.com/video...t=mozilla&tt=b

I would just replace all the bulbs while your in there and replace the dimmer switch.
Also dont forget to check your fuses, it could be a loose fuse (if its all the lights that are flickering.

Hope this helps bud

so its just the gauge lights....once again...driving home from work tonight...the headlights are on, and my gauges are OFF, however my check engine light (which is on due to needing to replace my thermostat)....any who, my "fuel, oil, tach, mph, and my other two are out...." my A/c in the center dash are still lit...

i guess i'm going to try to fix the dimmer switch and see if thats it....
