intermittent shutter after replacing intake manifold

my intake manifold cracked finally, so I replaced it with one of the updated ones with the aluminum crossover pipe. It is sealed up nice, no leaks, BUT... sometimes, when i get on the gas, there is a stutter, and the car vibrates real bad and is lacking its usual power. Could some of the coolant that leaked have seeped down into where my spark plugs are and be causing this? Any other suggestions? its a 97 GT with right around 100k, thanks!

Yes this could be spark related. The plug wires give out after around 70,000 mi.and should be replaced. At least thats when the wires on my MK VIII had to be replaced. This "vibration" was actually a miss when under heavy load and was first noticed going up hills. It got worse untill just trying to pass another car would bring on the miss. The car started and would hold a steady speed just fine.I replaced the plug wires and the problem went away completly.Unless the plugs are like new i'd replace them also.Repost and let us all know if this fixed the problem.

RE: intermittent shutter after replacing intake manifold

i had forgotten to mention that i got the car about 2 months ago, and right away i changed the plugs and the wires, but this was before the manifold problem. I just got done swapping the plugs out, and where all that crap from the manifold had gotten in, the plugs were nasty...i have a couple pics just to give you an idea. I left the wires because they are still pretty fresh. I took her out for about a 10 min or so test run on some back roads, ran the **** out of it, and she's runnin like a dream now, no more studder or vibration. thanks for your input chopper.

proably would not hurt to run some fuel system cleaner also looking at those plugs you proably will have some buildup
