Default t56 swap problems

alright guys i've been gone from the forums for a while and just rebuilt the motor in my 04 GT and did a t56 swap. motor came together nicely and the t56 drives great BUT my speedometer is not working. i got the t56 used from a guy locally who had it on his 98 gt with mechanical speed sensor. i hooked up the speed sensor from my car to the mechanical speed sensor location, so i figured just swap it to the other side and it should be fine but in doing so i found out that my sensor will not fit in the hole on the passenger side. anyone know where to get a sensor that will work? also having a problem with my backup lights. the t56 came with a reverse light sensor that had 2 screws on it so i bought a connector to hook up to that and it wont work. did i hook up something wrong or is this something that has to get fixed within the tune. im running on a base tune right now to break in the motor and new clutch.

If it is a Cobra spec T56, the previous owner needed to use a product like the Dallas Mustang Speed Cal II to get the trans to work with his speedometer/odometer. There isn't a mechanical plug on the trans. It's kind of a pain to wire, but it's how we have to do it with the mechanical input cars.

Your lights aren't in the tune, so something there must be hooked up wrong. I'd have to go crawl under mine to see what the proper hook up is. It's been awhile since I have looked at it.

You need the dallas mustang speedcal, also make sure its the extended range version. The old standard wont work.
