Looking for specs
Well, I was looking around and I found some dissaponting news. The only all aluminum 5.4 is the Ford GT. I still want an all aluminum engine. What I need to know is the specs for the 5.4, and the 4.6. Mabey I can get a 4.6 sleeved to the size of a 5.4 and install a 5.4 crank. Then I will have my alluminum block 5.4 and concur ALL!!! j/k But anyways that is my problem. The all aluminum engine will save 100 pounds off the cast iron block and since I want a road race type car that is very important.

Did you know that loosing 6 pounds is the equivelent of adding one horse. Not too many mods will give you that, at least not bolt on. Also the side to side weight transfer. The goal of this car is to be competitive if not better than the 2000 cobra R. And if i wasn't serious I wouldn't talk about it.

Anybody know the bore and stroke of the modular engines, or wherre I can get ahold of that information? I know that somebody has a magazine laying around that lists specs of bore and stroke on the 5.4, and the 4.6. Thanks

I am going to do that anyways. It comes in the maximum motorsports box that I am getting, as well as a coil over conversion, and all the structural braces for the FOX mustang. Thanks anyways though.

If I'm not mistaken the 5.4 L is from the same block as the 4.6 with larger internals (larger stroke of connecting rods, etc.) which account for the extra cubes. And wasn't the cobra motor aluminum before they supercharged it?

Correct on the same block. The cobra block is alunimum, but it is a 4.6. The only mustang to have a 5.4 is the 2000 Cobra R, which was cast iron. What I want to do is to sleeve the aluminum4.6 block to the bore of the 5.4. Then I put the 5.4 rotating assembly in, and save 100 pounds off a iron block.
