PI swap...start off by replacing the intake with a PI intake and see where that gets you.

100 shot of juice should get you there. You should look also at a CAI, headers and cat-back, pulleys, 70mm tb, and a tune. As long as you can hook it, you should be able to get there.

Of course, the PI swap is an excellent idea. If you buy the set, save up and have the P&P done (and cams) before installation. Yeah, takes longer, but the results are phenomenal.

PI intake manifold is what comes on all the 99-04 gt's. You should see a gain of about 15 rwhp if i remember correctly.

The PI is either Performance Improved or Power Improved, depending on who you're talking to. There are PI intakes and PI heads. You can use the intake without the heads, but the return is much less. I'd try to find a junkyard or use ebay to buy the parts.

I think I read that with the heads and intake, the increase is closer to 30hp, but I could be wrong. I think the '98s made about 225 flywheel vs. 260 on '99-'04. Essentially, the rest of the motor is the same.

Is that what i would need for the PI intake? and with that a K&N CAI i could get about 20-25hp total?

A PI swap will make a 96-98 Mustang Faster then a Stock 99-04 the PI swap improves flow and ups the C/R to about 10.5:1 insted of 9.5:1

Ya that is the intake you will need gaskets also, i heard that you can use PI gaskets and some RV to make them fit, you can get the intake off ebay for $150 if you look
