Default Heater Bypass Hose

I have a 2001 GT and I am having a problem with my under the manifold heater hose leaking, took the hose off and wanted to put on a soft rubber hose that went along the outside of the engine instead of under the manifold. What I am curious about however is that could I just block that off with a plug. I do not drive the car in the winter time so therefore I do not need the heat. My concern is if i would just stop coolant from reaching my heater core would that also stop coolant from reaching my passenger side head? If i can block off the heater core and still get coolant to my heads that is what I will do, just not exactly sure what to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Default Heater Bypass Hose

You can block off your heater core if that's what you want. You do this by bypassing it by plumbing together the two heater hoses that are at the back of your engine. Instead of each hose connecting to the heater core, they are connected to each other. How you do this is up up to you. You can't simply just plug these hoses. Coolant must be able to circulate.
