HELP!!! New to Mustangs and this Forum

Hello all! Im new to the mustang family and to this forum/boards as of August 2015. I Just bought a super clean and very well maintained 2000 GT 4.6 5spd convertible. All original. So its my new toy and baby!! I need to know the from the experts based on what Ive read where I can order(websites) and which beginners bolt on horse power adds I can do. First, Im interested in only doing the cold air intake, BBK throttle, Off road X pipe, flow masters, and gears. I drive this car daily!! 1st - which is better for me 3.73 gears or 4.10 gears?? 2nd - will I pass California smog inspection with the x pipe/flow master pipes?? 3rd - I noticed there are several different MM on the BBK throttle body choices. Which one is best for DAILY city and highway driving?

American Muscle is great for Mustang parts.

Right now you'd have more fun with 4.10s...not great if you have big HP hopes though.

I've got 3.73's with a Procharger and the car is very drivable - a buddy has similar power on twin turbos with 4.10's and it's much less.

On the 3.73 vs 4.10 debate, most will tell you 4.10. To be honest, both are better than the stock 3.23's. Mileage will be about the same on either. Personally, I have 3.73's in one of my irs and 3.55 in another.
The only thing you are going to gain with a cai is looks, no performance gains. If power is all youre chasing, go get a K&N replacement and remove the air silencer.
On the x-pipe, you will have to find a catted x pipe that is legal in CA. You will pass smog with most high flow catted x pipes.
On the throttle body sizes, go with the cheapest. On a bolt on GT, it will make no noticeable difference. I liked the BBK 78mm throttle body and plenum in one.

There is a great thread on here about beginner mods and such. Seriously a great read for a new mustang owner

You might want to look into doing suspension and bracing mods.
