Upgrading to handle slicks? Info needed

Ok. I'm looking to get a rear end that can handle some hard launches with slicks but this is still going to be a daily driver so I don't want the "click" that comes with certain rear ends when you turn that are built that I've seen. In about a month I'm going to be making about 650rwhp on a centri blower (Procharger F1A) and I want to be able to take advantage of it. I already have upper and lower control arms done but what else do I have to do to be able to handle this? I was told that I needed a 9in rear end (I'm assuming axle but I've only ever seen 8.8in so far). Can anyone help me out with this? I know very little about this and I need to get guidance. Anyone's help like always is greatly appreciated.

I was talking to a guy from American Muscle with a Mach 1 producing some insane HP numbers and he is still using the original 8.8 rear with some upgrades.

The 8.8 is a solid unit that can handle a lot of abuse, the internals just need to be upgraded with more performance oriented parts.

What internals did he use?

He said everything from Motive Gear, since Am sells it I assume he gets a nice discount.

I've been very happy with parts and complete rear end assemblies from Moser. An 8.8 will take the power, but you're going to need some upgrades to do it! Call Greg at Moser, he does this stuff for a living and won't steer you wrong!

8.8 is fine, have the stock tubes welded to the diff housing, run a 31 spline LSD ford unit, 31 spline axles, and your good to go.

slicks and horsepower don't kill rears, wheel hop kills rears.

Will any of that effect drive-ability and the ease of driving the car on the street?
