What should I get?

RE: What should I get?
Worry about either traction or treadlife, but you can't have both. Nittos are typically good for 12,000 or so. (At least I'm told that). Any shoes you put on these ponies are pricey. Soft compounds = traction, but treadwear is harsh. Harder compounds = less traction, but wear longer. Pick your poison.

Right now, I have an 03 GT, I've put on a BBK x-pipe, flowmaster catback, coldair intake, and underdrive pullys, and I'm running 13.83 in a 1/4 mile. What could I purchase next that would give me the best bang for my buck under $300?

i woudl suggest gears, and even then, if you can pull that kind of 60' and pull a 13.8 then i dont think youre going to be needing tires yet
i paid 180 for gears, 100 for recalibrator, 90 for rearend rebuild kit, and 200 for install for a grand total of almost 600

I had gears put on Fri for $100. Yep, I said $100. The guy was about 60+ yrs old and is the only person in the county that works on Ford rear ends. Even other transmission and drivetrain shops in the area recommend him by name. All he did was the swap, no bearings or anything were changed. I live about 75 miles from Tucson and he said that he even has people from there bringing in cars. I love the new gears and he did a great job. There's no gear wine and no problems at all. I used Ford Racing 3.73s and Royal Purple oil. I know, I know, should have went with 4.10s. I'm on the highway a lot...as the 31,000 miles on my 04 can show. Anyone in the southern AZ area needing gears, call Ray. I can get you his info.

Really should have done the bearings too, it's cheap insurance.
Anyways, I had bearings/gears installed for $150. Any shop doing it and takes more than 3-4 hours for an install is obviously not experienced with the swap...

From what most say, it didn't have enough miles to need it. I know that some say you might as well since you're already in there. I kind of thought that too, but the guy that did mine said that there was not necessary. That's also what the guy said about why a lot of people paying so much for the install. Most shops look in the book to see what Ford says it takes, then they multiply that times the $80-90 per hour that they charge for labor. This guy opens at 9am and I dropped it off at 8:45. He had it ready for me to pick up on my lunch break.
