On my investigating, the "x" just indicates that its a SOHC 4.6 GT model.
An easy way to identify if its a Windsor is to count the valve cover bolts.
The romeo heads had 11 bolts per valve cover while the Windsor had 13/14 bolts.

Is there a big difference between the blocks?

Not really, in fact you can use Romeo Heads on a Windsor block and vise versa. There are differences in the cams press gear vs bolted cam gear.

This topic has been discussed quite a bit, if you google PI swap there is more information there than you will ever need.

Nothng to note.
The front covers are different but interchangeable. The bolt sizes on one are a size bigger.
the cranks are the same except the Windsor has 8 bolts for the flywheel while the romeo has 6 bolts.
the heads are interchangeable. But the valve covers have different bolt patterns. the cam caps are different. The Windsor has press on cam gears while the romeo has bolt on.
Those are the main differences.

People casually call them valve covers, but due to being an OHC engine then technically it would be "cam cover". Tomato-tomotto...

So assuming you have a Romeo engine (as identified by the number of cam cover bolts noted above) means you currently have a 6 bolt crank; if the MMR kit uses an 8 bolt then yes you would need a different flywheel for that (11", you can use anything advertised as fitting an 03+ Mach or Cobra).
