Default Install time on a Cam?

Considering a cam swap on a 2000 GT to a comp stage 3 and need to have a ballpark of install time so I can pencil it out and see if it fits my budget. I will be having my local shop do it but wondering if anyone that has done this can tell me what to expect. 8 hours? Less?

Call the local shop and ask them, if they are reputable they will have time allotment on that job. Give or take a little.

Stage 3 requires your pistons notched.

Where are you seeing this? I read all the tech specs and install guide and says nothing about pistons at all.

This would be the stage 3 i was considering:

Talked to a mechanic friend of mine who is also a mustang guy and he's convincing me that after everything, a turbo kit would be a much better choice for more bang for the buck. Thoughts on that? And I'm feeling like maybe I could handle the turbo install myself but would love to hear feedback

With that cam, you are either going to retard the cam timing or notch the pistons. If you retard the cam timing, you will be leaving power on the table. The comp 268 cam is a better fit.
A supercharger or turbo will be a better bang for your dollar hands down.
