TOB SPIINING
#12
Sorry but I disagree with the throwout bearing spinning at all times. All that will do is cause you to go through bearing like I've been going. I just spent the last 2 weeks working on mine replacing everything again including the clutch cable because the original one could not be adjusted at the clutch fork. I did a lot of research and found a couple great ideas that I can now say work. New clutch working great and confirmed that the throwout bearing is not spinning when not engaged. It's too late now because I am not pulling the tranny again but I wish I had adjusted my clutch fork pivot ball out a little more to give me more pedal play. What I did is install a 4" spring mod on the clutch cable at the clutch fork. This is mainly for those like me that have an aftermarket quadrant and firewall adjuster. What this will do is push the clutch fork back when not in use to help keep the bearing off the clutch fingers. I was able to fine tune the clutch engagement using the firewall adapter then looking at the bearing to make sure it was not spinning. I'm not sure how far the bearing is away from the clutch fingers but it just enough to not spin but let the clutch work properly. I will say my clutch engages when the pedal is closer to the floor now but I'll take that over replacing bearings any day. Just my 2 cents.
