1996 Mustang GT starts then dies at idle
Monday evening, I drove home from work just fine, parked and went inside. Friend of mine came over and we were about to leave to get a bite to eat and then it all went downhill. Started my car, idled fine for about 30 seconds, then it stumbled, misfired to hell, and matting the pedal couldn't bring it above like maybe 1k rpm. Nothing was bringing that out, so it just stalled. Tried to start again, same setup just the problem came on faster.
So, we took the MAF off, cleaned it with MAF cleaner, good as new. Fired right up. Awesome, right? Wrong. Today, I drove to work, came home like usual and all was well. Left the house to go to a buddies, got about 3/4's the way there and it did it again. In traffic. Heavy traffic. Eventually, after fighting with it for a few minutes, I just got it to like 4-5k rpm (BARELY lol) and took off. Emphasis on barely. Once the car is moving, the issue goes away. Completely, actually. So, I got it to my buddies, we replaced the IAC also. No difference.
I will say though, it seems the issue only occurs when it's at or near operating temperature. Cold motor = no problems. Warm motor = wack idle. I'm not sure at this point, but I'm desperate. Thanks everybody.
TL;DR -- Car won't stay idling when it's at or near operating temp. It turns over, idles for about 10-15 seconds then putters, kicks, misfires, all that jazz, until it dies. It honestly will hardly go above 1k rpm until it straightens itself out for a short time before it does it again. Replaced MAF and IAC valve. No difference.

Gonna need to perform some tests. Starting with the fuel pressure, its a possibility that your fuel pump is starting to fail.
Also check your maf connector for any signs of corrosion.
Is your check engine light on? If so the computer has some information for you.
