Make sure your rods are facing the correct way.

Rods only face one way, if they are backwards the clearances will be off making it hard to turn. This is an MMR 4.75 kit. If I remember right MANLEY is written on 1 side and that side faces front.

ok took a piston out only marking's on the rod are at the crank connection and they are the bore sizes and length they are on the sides not forward or backward.

I'm doing this at my father in-law's house when I talked to him about it he said he knew this but saw no markings on it and he thought it must fit either way.. this is his first ford build he sat in on he wasn't sure.

I believe MMR sold me their brand rods not manley

Look at the big end, one side will stick out further than the other. Side that sticks out faces forward. If you are using the ford racing coyote crank make sure you have the clam shell thrust and not the 3 piece that a stock 2v uses.

ok straight from MMR yes the manley are marked and so are ford racing but theirs work either way. aslong as the caps are bolted with the numbers I was talking about matching the rod. could turn either way.

anyway you can link me a pic of what your talking about I just bought a new set of bearings for the drivetrain. I got the one that goes in to transmission ad the one that goes in to crank.
