Default Car died at track. Bent electrode on spark plug

2002 Mustang GT.Went to the drag for the first time. After my 4th pass my car died at the very end of the pass and car died. Had trouble starting back up. On the way home car was spuddering. Changed out the spark plugs and one of the electrodes or the very top part of one of the plug was pushed down completely. After changed spark plugs car ran fine. But the car was shaking a little more than usual.Called my mechanic and he said he'll check it out tomorrow and take it to his shop if needed. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Sounds like you had the wrong plugs in there, and under high stress and high RPM your piston may have hit the plug. There isn't anything else in your cylinder that can hit the plug. No good thing every happened when a piston hits the plug. I would get an endoscope and examine the piston and the cylinder walls carefully. I'd also check to make sure you are using the correct plugs. Wouldn't hurt to run a compression check and change the oil and look for metal in the oil.

Any knocking? A spun rod bearing might let a piston contact the plug. Oil pressure OK?

I'd scope it.To bend the plug like that, might take something that doesn't belong in the combustion chamber.
