Test drove a 2004 GT Convertible today and something strange
I test drove a 2004 GT Convertible today. Owner says it is tuned with a programmer. The only thing I can tell that is aftermarket is the cold air intake, the programmer and headers and exhaust. He told me that I had to push the traction control button before I took off for the test drive, he said it has something to do with the programmer, if you don't push the button he told me the car does not run properly. So i pushed the button and sure enough the car ran great, very fast. Has anyone ever heard of this, I am new to the mustang and any of it's aftermarket stuff. Owner is now away for a few days so I can't ask him what brand of programmer it is. Any advice would be appreciated?

The only thing I can think of is the car has gears installed and they messed up the programming for the speed sensor to recalibrate the speedometer. If computer thinks the rear wheels are spinning faster than the front wheels it may trigger the traction control.
