Snow Tires

RE: Snow Tires
Hey! I knew you would surface! Another person who has to drive their stang in the snow. I have a 97 GT and have come up on the same obstacle.
Make a great attempt at getting good but used tires, because....
I had a guy who could get me a great discount on snow tires, and they were Blizzarks and are about $160 THROUGH HIM, and average around 200 per tire. No matter where I have searched they are 160 to 200+ per tire. And lets just say I still have the same tires on my car.... lousy lack of money :-P
If you are on a budget, you can probably get by with just putting snow tires on the rear, as I hear this is pretty effective.
I hope I have helped some..
Do you have 16 or 17" rims? Be sure when you are looking you get tires that have the exact same measurements as your current ones.
Do let me know if you find a deal..

RE: Snow Tires
i havent driven my stang in the snow, but my last car, a 96 4.6 cougar xr7 i had cooper weathermasters on the back and junk on the front and it drove like a tank. in a stang, i would recomend the same thing with a couple cinderblocks or another spare tire, ive always hated cleaning sand out of carpet.

RE: Snow Tires
I live in NW Arkansas and we get ice and not snow. I'm gonna take the wife's 4x4 burb when I can. I made it through last winter half in St. Louis area and half in NW Arkansas area without incident. If somebody suggests a good snow tire I wouldn't mind buying crappy rims to mount them on and use them only seldomly.

RE: Snow Tires
I'm planning on buying a 2003 Mustang V6 with traction control so I think I'll be alright but I'm not sure. Im planning on buying 4 snow tires but I'm wondering should I still get some snad bags for in the back? I live in Canada with lots of snow and ice so keep that in mind. Thanks
