RE: PI Swap
Help your friends dad out and maybe he'll cut you a deal. I cant wait to order my kit!!! I'm paying a lo more than if I went out and price shopped but it comes with everything you need and guaranteed so i'll be happy. And since you'll have everything apart get some cams or something. Thats my plan.

RE: PI Swap
the swap is about a 10-12 hour job by the book. 600-1000 depending on the rates in your are is the most you should pay for labor. the shop that built my heads charged me 700 for the swap.

RE: PI Swap
modular powerhouse in marietta quoted me $1000 for the pi swap + the parts i dont have yet and i think the cam install would be free but if it requires new valve springs then its like another 250. thats too rich for me. randy at modulardepot.com quoted me 425.00 for the rest of the parts + shipping. this is gonna cost a LOT more than i expected.
complete PI heads and intake w/alum xover - 461 shipped
rest of parts needed 425 + shipping
labor at mph - 1000
total - $1886 + shipping!!!
+ 500 or so for new cams which i should do and know its the smart time but sooo much money
i wish i could do it myself but i dont have the tools for the job

If I had time I would do the swap for you. The only time I could work nonstop on the project and finish it in a reasonable time frame would be during chirstmas brake. It wont be that bad if you get "everything" you need. I will be paying more than what everyone else is paying but im buying a complete brand new set with a guarentee. It'll cost $1350 and its free shipping and I am going to install new cams and springs so thats another $800 so right around 2 Grand. But Im doing all my own work so I can drop 2 G's and still be ok with it.
Plus I want new stuff because I dont trust the guy who took it off his 99+ because he liked the chrome looking ones better[8D]

RE: PI Swap
lol what are some special things (tools/skills) needed to do this. im kinda thinkin of this as a bigger throttle body install that i did to my honda, its just that you have to torque the heads down in a certain fashion and then i gotta do the timing and make sure its right.
if i did that throttle body install successfully, what else would i need to know or special tools to get to be able to successfuly do this right?
