02 GT ECM Question

02 GT ECM Question
Hello,
I have recently purchased a 2002 Mustang GT (my first Mustang). This car was originally an automatic but had a TR-3650 swapped in. I think this car still has the automatic transmission ECM, because when I added a tune to the car the OD OFF light began to flash and the check engine light was triggered and showed some shift solenoid codes. The tuner had a custom tune which I re-flashed with, which took care of the OD OFF/CEL. My question is, is it possible that the ECM is still for the automatic car and if so, can I swap a proper ECM from a manual trans car in? Thanks in advance.

Best way to tell is to look at the car's VIN, then the VIN in the ECU as seen in the tuner,
if they match, then yes, the original ECU is in the car, which was an automatic. If the VIN
in the ECU does not match, then it was replaced, and you flashed an automatic program to
the ECU.
If in your case, all those lights were not on till you flashed the ECM, then you put
in the program for an automatic, thus triggered all the MILs, or erased what the
other guy did when he programmed all that stuff out. If your tuner has the original code,
flash it back to stock, see if all the warning lights go out. Tuners are supposed to pull
what was in it, and store it in the tuner when it marries the tuner to the car. Unmarrying
will put that program back into the ECU, then you can see if the lights all go out.
Putting a manual ECU in will still require programming, because the cluster was put in
for an automatic at the factory. My car does not have ABS or TCS, and the Acura dealer
put in a cluster from a car that DOES, now all those MILs are on; BRAKE/ABS/TCS. So
I am again waiting for the right cluster.

Thank you both for responding. What I ended up doing was loading one of the custom tunes that was on the device and that fixed the issue. The only problem is I cannot see the parameters of that custom tune. I have reached out to a few tuner places and hoping they can create a basic tune that I at least know the details of. Probably not worth the hassle swapping the ECM when a tuning outfit can modify those parameters.
