Hi there, I am new to forums and now in learning stage of how to take care of my 02 GT Lazor Red Convertible (my baby). Some things I would only trust my excellent mechanic Mike ( worked for Ford for 20 years and now has his own shop). But trying to do some things on my own.

I cleaned out my MAF sensor after putting new filter on cold air intake. My question is about Fuel Filter-does it matter, with having a cold air intake, should I use Ford filter?? Or different one??

Sorry about the same thread being posted in "General Question", I thought I was in "Mechanic" 👈 my guy is tough to get on phone so any help would be appreciated. We all have to start somewhere.....🤔 🙄

Welcome!

The fuel filter does not need to "match" the air filter. There are other reputable brands out there and everyone has their own favorites, but Motorcraft filters aren't much more expensive than the rest, so that's what I like to use.

(BTW, fun fact: these cars already came with cold air intakes from the factory, so an aftermarket one makes little-to-no difference, performance-wise. They do look pretty slick under the hood though...)
