Free modifications.......Extinct??
Hey fellas. I am the proud owner of a 2003 Mustang GT, 5spd. I was just wondering if there were any "free" mods out there that could gain a little more HP. I've had several muscle cars in my life and there were always some things you could do to tweak up the HP without haveing to spend any money. Thanks for all the input!!!

take off the cover of your intake box, remove the filter, theres a rubber elbow from your box to the fender well, thats the silencer. Take it out and your intake will be a lil louder, not sure of any substantial performance gains, but you're takin out a restriction, so it has to do something.

taking out the screen is about it on a 4.6 every thing is computer controled so you can'g just go playing with the timing and such. sorry your best bet is to invest in a hand held programmer it will give you all the options that you need to tweek the car the way you want.

I know its bad......but I was once the owner of a 97 SS camaro. That was the last muscle car I've played with in a while. There were a bunch of free things you could do to bump up HP. Bypass coolant lines from throttle body, remove screens from MAF, disconnect EGR valves, etc. I mean its nothing big, maybe 4 or 5 HP total with all MODS. I was just wondering if there was anything that you could do with Mustangs.

This might Help
This site tells you where it is on a 96-97 GT, not sure how much different it is on your car.
