2010 unique when tuning?
Posting here due to no response in the tuning section. Since the 2010 GT got the extra hp bump from the bullet intake and tuning, would I gain anything by using a canned tune from any tuning manufacturer? I can’t seem to find anything on it since it’s just this specific year. Just wanting to run a 93 octane tune, but it might not be worth it if it’s only going to be 5 hp or so. It’s a manual, so not needing the extra auto trans benefits. Anybody have any experience that can help with an opinion or better yet, personal experience? Thanks! |
Still doesn't belong here, you posting a 2010 in 1996-2004 section.

Lol Up too late I guess. :icon_gunhead: |
if the canned tune is designed for the 2010 model im sure there could be a couple hp gain to be had, not a fan of canned tunes but they sometimes work well

Well I wound up getting a Diablo intune i3 and I would say it definitely helps. The 93 tune is a title too much for a daily commute but the 87 and 91 tunes with a degree of timing seems to the sweet spot. I’d definitely recommend it. |

The 87 Eco and Performance tunes get less MPG than the 93. I topped out at 28 MPG in the summer with the 93 K&N FIPK Firm Shift tune. The 87 tunes, I was lucky to get past the EPA MPG rating mark. SO, I kept the 93 octane tune in. Now that it's colder out, it's down to 26, but I have only driven it 2 times since the cold weather hit. I did not run the 91, no sense in it, since 93 isn't that much more... |

Only if you can't afford the fuel.

it wasn’t a fuel price problem with the 93, it was because the throttle position is more aggressive. I would barely touch the throttle and it sounds like I’m wanting to race somebody next to me all the time bc it’s revving so high so fast. It also gave me concerns about clutch wear with that being the problem. It just made it difficult to not drive fast and row through gears like crazy, even when I’m in traffic and then it was jerky. If there was a way for me to get the 93 tune, but change the throttle setting it would be great. |
I have the InTune1000, and I don't get the touchy throttle. It has a canned
tune, 93 Octane K&N FIPK, then put the firm shift parameter in. I do not actually have a K&N FIPK intake, just a modified OE with a Spectre drop in panel filter. |
