Default Need help with brakes please.

Hello,
96 mustang g.t. Changed front and back calipers and rotors. bled the master cylinder and all four wheels. pedal seems to hold until I start car ? Then right to floor. No idea ? Rack and pinion is leaking also . Is the brake booster tied in with power steering ? Thank you.

Yes, it's called hydroboost. The ps pump provides the power assist to the booster via fluid pressure rather than traditional vacuum assist.

Not a guru on this stuff but I only ever bleed (regardless of power assist type) with the engine running.

even if the power steering pump is leaking you should still have a pedal, a hard to push pedal but a pedal all the same

make sure the master cylinder is full go to the right rear open the bleeder and leave it open until brake fluid comes out close bleeder and repeat for all other wheels. refill master and bleed as usual with engine running

as long as you didn't drain the master this should work

sounds like it could be a hydroboost problem
