ABS light on
My ABS light has been on since I bought my car. Car is a 2001 GT. The car has 275/40/17's on the rear and 245/45/17's on the front. I read somewhere that tire size can trigger the ABS light. Is this true? Also the front has been dropped 1/2" if that could trigger the light.

tire size can trigger the light, but not that tire size you listed. you need to get the vehicle scanned by a abs compatible device. Odds are its a speed sensor or bad abs module.
I have a innova model 31703 scan tool that reads ABS codes, but when I tried to read the code it said this vehicle does not support code diagnosis.
if you cant communicate with the ABS then most likely the module is dead
sadly its a super common problem with these cars. my car has a dead module. I just pulled the cluster and took the ABS warning lamp bulb out so i wouldnt have to stare at it any longer
If I were to buy a new module would it have to be flashed to work with other modules?
check to make sure all the power and grounds to the module are in fact good before condemning it, but id bet lunch on the module being toast. you dont have to reprogram it. you can replace just the module itself without the HCU being opened or any lines cracked.
You can see what the ABS error code is by watching the number of flashes by the ABS light after start up. Or is that just 94 - 98 thing?
