Default Transmission ID

I have a 2001 GT with a manual transmission.I was reading where ford changed transmission manufacturers in mid year. According to carfax my car was in a disabling accident on the left side in 2002 and I think it had a new quarter panel put on it. The sticker that should be inside the left door jamb is missing. It looks like there never was one there. Can I tell from my cars vin number which transmission my car has? the vin is 1FAFP42X71F169721. The first car fax record is on 2/21/2001 and says: vehicle manufactured and shipped to original dealer. I know the car could not have been made and shipped out the same day so February 21, 2001 is just close to its manufacture date. Any help is appreciated.

There a a few manuals that will hook up to your GT. Just do some research on it.

Early 2001, T45 Code 6 (fount it on Yahoo).
Late 2001 to 2006, TR3650 Code K (found it on yahoo)

Search engines do work, just take a look:

Was what results came up...

Don't want to change it, just want to know if it has a T45 or a TR3650.
