By allowing you to grip the road better by no wheel hop. Keeps the wheels pinned to the road.

well look at your front end grill, there is a honey comb shaped black plastic piece around the horse, it is basically a kit that comes with the horse and a black border, and it makes it completely open in there. looks pretty cool. here it is on my 97 GT notice you see all the way through

JDan Nittos aren't that bad. I mean they are inconsistent but with 4.10s and Nitto DR's in my auto i pulled off a 1.81 60'. They are better than stock you just need to heat them up alot and they last longer than most DR's. I will agree though MT and BF's are better but don't last as long. I would just do CA's,drag springs, sticky tires, gears and full exhaust and see what you get. i have seen stock engines with full suspension ripping 12's so you just gotta figure what you want. also if you stick too good you might wanna kiss your rear end good-bye.

Nittos are a compromise tire, they don't grip that great, if you guys had more experiance with other tires you would all see this. If you want to go fast get a good drag radial and put them on another set of rims so you don't have to drive on them every day.

Jdan, is a stock rear end safe to rev up to 5000 and dump the clutch with slicks? i heard that they are the weak link in a mustang. is this true?

The stock 8.8 read end is tough as a mf, the weak link, at least in my car is the POS T-45 tranny, also the T-5 sucks too. Dont worry about the read end, even dropping the hammer at 5-6.

The weak link is actually the half-shafts. I dont think the tranny is supposed to be a problem unless u got alot of hp.
