Fuel Leaking From Tank

Fuel Leaking From Tank
I recently got a 2004 mustang gt conv. and I went to fill it up for the first time. After I got home I noticed a fuel smell and saw small amount of fuel on the ground. When did some research most places suggest the filler pipe or the rubber grommet. After looking underneath the car at the fuel tank it seems to be leaking from the left side, away from the filler pipe. I was hoping someone could give me a suggestion as to what could be leaking.

Welcome!
Those would have been my first guesses too. This is a TX car, isn't it? I don't suppose it's going to be rusty, then... How about the filter? Any chance it's been changed, but the lines weren't reconnected properly, thus shooting fuel out in that direction when the system is pressurized?
