99 gts had the crap hood scoop like on the v6s. i dont know about the 00, but im gonna say that my car looks mean as hell. i have a few mods and most of the full bolt on gt's cant beat me.

i considered a 97 cobra when i bought my 03 but insurance wouldve been more so take that into consideration

If I remember correctly, the 96-97 cobra blocks are stronger than 98,99,01 cobra engine blocks, or 03-04 mach 1 engine blocks. It would be a perfect place to start if you want a DOHC monster that is also much lighter in weight than an 03-04 cobra block.

I say go for the cobra. Also, find out if you can slap on FR500 heads, cams and intake as they would rock.

think about insurance too :-p thas what prevented me from getting an 03 cobra, but i'd look around for lower mileage :-p
