Default Need advice on upgrading 96 GT

I'm new to this forum so sorry if this is a repost, but I have a 96 GT, I was wondering what would be the best upgrades (unfortunately this is an automatic :-/). This pro-drag racer told me to do a PI swap and throw a supercharger on it, I'm willing to do the PI swap but superchargers can be expensive so im lookin at alternate ways, you can reach me on AIM= xL hurricane Lx

the pi swap is a very good start and is a good choice but will cost you. for some cheaper horespower start with the exhaust. get longtube headers, a mid pipe (h sounds better and x pipes give a tad more power), and cat back exhaust. that, some underdrive pulleys, a drop in k&n filter, and a tuner willl give you a very noticable difference, all for less than the pi swap. plus you could install all of these (maybe not pulleys) yourself

If you are going to do the PI swap you will not want to S/C it because doing the swap raises the compression and S/C do not like high compression. The PI swap will set you back around 2 grand but with just the stock PI cams/heads/intake you will be running with stock 99-04 GT's. Now if you are going to do the PI swap spend the money and get a nice set of cams and have the heads P&P, doing this will have anywhere from 260-290 RWHP (you will also need to open up your exhaust to get the full benifit of everything) If all that is a little too much $ start will any and all the bolt-ons, the best/first to start with are gears, exhaust, CAI, U/D pullys, TB/plenumn.

Just something to think of, automatics can easily get faster than a stick by adding a shift kit and a high stall.
