Actually, when driving, if i am using 1 and 2 on the gear selector, the car wont shift out of 1st or 2nd unless i shift it up a gear, it will stay in that gear as long as you keep it there, even when the rev limiter kicks in

I know, but some people just don't belive this. I drive in second gear usually, I stretch my gas out a little longer when I'm on a street instead of having it in drive.
leaving in 2nd gear saves gas? did I read that correctly?

explain that please... what speed exactly are you going that it saves you gas to leave it in 2nd rather than drive? I don't get it. it seems like you should loose mpg if your rpms are staying higher.

I should have said when I'm in traffic on my way to and from work (on the street), not on the highway or anything. When in stop and go traffic there it just seems like the gas lasts a little bit longer when the week is over. I might be crazy tho.

all it does when you put the shifter into "2" is prevent it from going into 3rd and o/d, so your rpms never drop... it still starts at 1 and shifts into 2... I think you're crazy.
