Default Long or Short Tube Headers?

I have heard that the long tube headers give a better launch than short tube headers. Is this true? Or matter of opinion? Also, will short tube headers fit into place with the factory H-Pipe, or is a mod necessary? -BTW, First day, first post!

get longtubes and the matching short x or h pipe.

shorties give little to no power gains but yes they will fit to the stock junk h pipe. the way i see it is if you even bother doing LT's then you have to get rid of that stock mid pipe. it holds to much back. now for an extra 150 bucks if that you can get a new h or x and it will flow alot better and sound alot meaner. everyone will say LT's here too so don't just take my word for it

I live in FL so i do not have to worry about emissions, but I used to live in AZ, I had a friend with a 92 5.0 that kept his stock exhaust and would just swap it out, they only test every two years

Go Long Tubes. The shorties will only produce like 3-5hp. With LT's your looking at 10-20hp depending on other mods you have. And if you already have an aftermarket mid-pipe and don't want to buy another one, you can have the shop doing your work cut the pipe and weld the headers it. You'll get more mid range and top end power out of them too. That's general info if you have any more questions just post!
