noise from my driver side rear wheel.
i read in another post of a problem similar to mine....in about 1st and 2nd gear its a loud noise coming from the left rear tire. i kno forsure that i need brakes all way around.....but would the noise im hearing like a metal noise...be the brakes or the wheel bearings.....kinda think it is both.....if it is bearing how hard is the installation of them and what would it cost to get them replaces.....brake pads would be no problem!

RE: noise from my driver side rear wheel.
If it's a metal on metal grinding noise then it's definatly your brakes. Mine did the same thing. Pads and rotors would be all you need. But don't take my word because I've never encountered a situation for which it could be wheelbearings, and I really don't know the sound or anything. Check the brakes first becaue they're easier to diagnose, but if that's not it, then the wheelbearings are the cause.

i dont think it is the metal to metal grinding noise that you would hear when brakes are GONE.....its a different noise than that....the brake pads have a little life left in em....they just start to squeak every now and then but im replacing them here Soon....just need to fix the bearing problem if tats the problem!
