what is a shift kit exactly

whats a shift kit and will it hurt my stock 96 gt motor i have a 1996 auto gt and want a shift kit how much are they and what are they

**** kit will firm up your shifts and make them more clean if thats the right word. google might help you on where to find it.

If you have ever shifted from 1 to 2 on the gear selector, you will notice that it takes it a second to actually shift. Well a shift kit will shorten this time. A shift kit, if anything, will make your tranny less suseptible to wear, and basically making it last longer. A shift kit allows the fluid to reach the gear sooner allowing the car to shift sooner.
