Gear Grind, tranny fluid
I was considering changing my tranny fluid to help with my occasional gear grind, but then i found 2 problems...1) All the tranny fluid was for "automatic" transmissions and 2) Most material says your car never needs to have it's tranny fluid changed in it's lifetime...

2) dont' believe the hype. The owners manual or maintenance schedule recommends the fluid be changed around 90K miles. Same goes for the Differential which takes 80W90 gear oil.

Changing the fluid worked to eliminate an occasional third gear lockout on mine, but my transmission is a Tremec 3650 which are known to have been overfilled by Ford. It cant hurt to change yours; I used Dexron III myself.
