Default Jet Power Control Module chip?

I have a '99 mustang cobra.. I know it has the recall because I raced my friend who has a 98 cobra w/ headers and exhaust, and i was all stock, and he barely beat me.

I now have long tube headers, a pro chamber, and a rebuilt engine that is bored out slighty. I'm away at college so I've yet to go home and drive it since it's been fixed, looking forward to thanksgiving break. Anyways here's my question:

Does anyone have the Jet Power Control Module chip? If so is it worth buying if I can get it at a steal price..<100$. Any significant gains in HP or will it be a waste and just mess up the timing? Thanks, I appreciate your help.

John
