Ok. I just got my 4.30s in...today in the mail. and want to install them tmrw.
well I call my friend (whom I havnt spoke to in a while)
he says--- NO WAY to not put 430s in or even 410s in for that matter-
he says that he knew a guy at the track that put in 4.10s and in 1/4 mile toward the end of the track
he would put it in Overdrive and with that HIGH of gears he would actually have to let off the gas to put it in OD.
(I have an AUTO)

so another words what he saying is with 410s or 430s you have to let off to put it in OD toward the end of the 1/4 mile run.

Please tell me is this is true?

You should be fine with an auto. I think with a stock type motor, in a 5-speed you will be really close to redline in 4th gear at the end of the 1/4. I am at about 5900 rpms at the end of the 1/4 in 4th gear.

Tell your friend to shut up and never ask him for advice again, ever.

^Lol haha, will do.

So I take I will be fine then lol?

b/c as of now...
Control Arms
4.30
Drag Radials
Diablo Sport

but I have future mods of Cams, CAI, Exhaust etc...
I am just working on suspension and gears etc right now.

So I take it my 4.30's are fine for both my motor now and once it has more mods.
no need to let off the gas then?

Thanks!

No need.

Your motor will feel like it has 50 more HP with those 4.30's and since you already have a nice suspension setup + radials... you are ready to have a blast.

my friend told me the same thing, about not to get 4.10s or 4.30s. they just dont want your car to be faster then theirs. im still happy with my 4.10s

take it from a man with experience. i listened to douchebags like that and worse and got 3.73 gears. if i could do it all over again, i'd get at LEAST 4.10s.

i only got 3.73's cause i was planning on blowing the car and didnt want to run out of gear in the 1/4 mile.
