You on crack. Cold air=more power. Putting in a freer flowing filter in the stock location won't really do diddly.

I got a densecharger kit, it places the filter in the fender. It sounds pretty good and I have noticed a slight increase in power.

No the air silencer is a waste of space. It's a piece of rubber that slows down and restricts the air entering your filter, thus making it quieter. You want to remove the air silencer completely and throw it away. I'm guessing that when you say intake you mean something like a cold air induction kit. Any of the brands discussed above will do just fine.

Hey Scott B did you want to run down to the local home depot and make your intake yourself once you recieved your densecharger? I know I wanted to , just think we could have saved 70 bones.<img border="0" src= smileys/smiley7.gif>

Where is this rubber piece located, and how do I remove it?

lt's near the air box and it goes down to the fenderwell. All you need is a screwdriver to remove it.
