RE: Help me spend money!
ummm i think its like 700 watts maybe. im not really sure. its relatively powerful and my understanding was that almost anything better than stock would hurt your alternator and eventually kill it if u got u/d pullies so i never really researched it all that much. im very intrigued now tho...i will research it more.

Well 600 seems about right for the low end of the spectrum, but it could also cost you as high as $800. Not bad considering redoing your entire exhaust, minus the headers, will cost about this much for a good system.

See if you can get Mom and Pop to advance you for your next birthday as well and consider putting on a catback exhaust system if you have stock exhaust right now. SLP LMI's or LMII's. Look for them at LMPerformance.com and several other places. Less than $400 and you can install them yourself. The hardest part is cutting the original exhaust off. But the whole job takes 2-3 hours at the most.
Why a catback exhaust instead of anything else for the first modification??? You will love the sound everytime you put your foot down! You will also see an improvement in pickup and yes, even gas mileage. My 0-60 time was 4-5% faster. Then save your money for all the other wonderful mods you can do.

800$ for gears? i live in chicago where everything is the most expensive, and i got my ford 4.10s for 180 shipped off ebay,
the install was 275 for labor, and all together it came out to be a lil less then 550

OK then get a set of 4.10 and buy a chiltons manual then install the gears yourself. its not as hard as everybody says. it just takes for freakin ever. plus how many miles are on your car. the gears i changed my car had 52000 miles on it and all i changed was the gear oil.

i have about 30,000 miles right now...would i need to buy an install kit too? or is that just for higher mileage engines? i think im way too much of an amateur to do this myself.
