Please Help I'm stranded need pulley info
Okay, I need to know what the bottom pulley is on the passanger side of my mustang it's located just below the tensioner pulley and it is locked up tight. I almost spun the belt off. Can someone tell me what that is so I can get another one?
Is it the smog pump?

On the '04s, that sounds like the A/C compressor. I marked it in red. IF this is not the one, tell me which one it is.

Yeah, that's the one right there. So what do I need to pull the A/C Compressor Clutch apart and what do I need to actually fix it? I have a Ford Racing A/C Delete in route, it'll be here tuesday, but I'm going to need to actually fix her.

Not sure. If you have the delete coming, then I'd wait until it arrives. If you need to fix it now, then I'm not sure. I don't think you can fix it without replacing the clutch or maybe the entire compressor.

Well I know this sounds stupid, but the best thing I can tell you to do is take it to a shop. Couldn't imagine it taking them more than an hour to do it which will run about $60.

I talked to the shop forman at two different Ford Dealers here and I talked to two independant mechanics and it's about an 1.5hr job which at $60-80hr it's not really worth it, I can just pop it off and take it down there. All I have to replace is the A/C Compressor Clutch, and appearently there is a "special" tool that they use to sperate that from the compressor. Wow, I'm learning all kinds of neat mustang information, so once that's all apart they have to "special" tool it back together. The tool is for sale at Schuck's but it's $40 and the clutch kit (with the military discount) is $170.97 from the dealer and it just goes up when you go to Napa, Schucks, Pep Boys, Carquest, and Autozone. As well as the two independant shops I called. Not only that but no one has one on hand. The dealer can get me one in three days. But you also have to factor in that the compressor will need to be serviced, (since it's out and apart).
So I guess my broke *** is going to have to delete it for $77.88 next day air from Summit and I can fix her on Tuesday. After I figure out if I'm getting out or staying in, I will really fix her. No, really, I hate these kinds of cheesy fixes, but at least I'll have an A/C delete laying around if I ever want to start seriously racing her. It's not like it's a difficult install. A pup like me can do it.
So what are the pros and cons of the A/C delete? Do any of you have solid numbers?
