You do not need two working keys. I only had one key and they made a copy and now I only have two working keys. I do not see why you say you have to have two.

Be warned, the Haynes manual is junk, you can not go by what they say it in. They have given me false info three times. They say 5 quarts in the Haynes manual. But really my 4.6 takes 6 quarts. This is what it says in my owners manual. I have changed my oil 6 times, and every time I use 6 quarts and im perfect.

my 97 GT takes 6 quarts, but I did notice it wasn't up to the full line, but at about 3/4 on the dipstick. runs cool with plenty of oil pressure.... Just run 6 and you're good
I use pennzoil 5w/30...
as for the key, the guy I bought mine from gave me 2 remotes and 3 keys... so I'm set... do need a new battery for one remote tho, do I have to reprogram it and can I just pop it open with a screwdriver to get the battery out??

My 96 does have the chip in the keys. I took it into A to Z and they had the correct code that I needed and were able to only program one key.

Look for FORD "PATs" keys on ebay. I picked up 2 keys for $15 shipped.
When I got my car (used) it was missing the key. The dealership had me waiting around forever while they were looking for the key. I finally was like "No biggie, i'll just get another key made..." wrong, the keys contain a computer chip with a code.
The next day I found the missing key. It was broken off in the trunk! GRRRR...
anyway, once you get your blank pats key, get it cut. I had to go to a real locksmith because my key was slightly bent..
The locksmith gave me a hard time, saying "its not going to work... and you can't have your money back". I'm like "$1?... BFD cut the key...."
Finally, for a 1998 or newer car, you'll need 2 different working keys to add more keys. This worked for a friend with a 1999 6cyl mustang.
My 1996 only needed one working key to add more, which is good because thats all I had.
Read here for the procedure:

Actually, this reminds me, we were going to get more keys if the first 2 worked...
