I got the Steeda Tri-Ax. I love it. I odn't know to much about the pro50, But the Steeda has a spring in it. So when you come out of second it's almost jumps into third by itself. And it's a really short throw to. I would look into the Steeda.

I am going to get a short throw also. Have heard both the tri-ax and the pro5 as the popular ones. One question I have though: do these shifters sit forward more than the stock one. What I mean is, the stock one has the s curve that brings it back toward the driver. If the short throws don't do this I think it may be too far forward for where I like it. Can either of you answer this?

You can install the shifter by yourself. It's super easy. Just a few bolts to undo. Word of caution though, once you get the stock shifter removed, don't drop anything down into the hole! Anything that gets dropped (be it small enough) goes right down into your transmission.

Yes, the Tri-ax sits a little farther forward than the stock. It does have the S in the handle, but it's still a farther reach then I'd like. I almost ripped it out the other day, I got pissed at some old lady in front of me going 5 mph, I dumped it into 1st, and smashed my finger between the shift **** and the dash board where it comes down around the radio. I know better now, but let me tell ya. That was Road Rage!

Just installed the pro 5.0 and love it. Sits a little further maybe 1-1 1/2 inches tops but its worth it. Goes over to 3rd by itself, cant miss and throw is very short- feel is solid.
