i bought my car about 3 months ago, and there was a little grindage going into 5th if i was above 2k rpms, and it is hard to get to reverse and gets stuck sometimes. now, it gets stuck every once in a while when I am in 5th gear on the highway, and i have to pull with all my might to unstick it. when i do this, there is a loud clunk my car is a 97 gt, and I am wondering what the best tranny for the buck is to go with? its stock right now except for a pro chamber. i only plan to do a p.i. swap with cams and also the basic bolt ons. thanks!

im also looking into a new tranny cause our t45s suck. i wanna get the t56 viper gspec or whatever its called, best tranny out there. but its over 2500$ so maybe next year [&o]

if your a litte short on cash order a rebuild kit from ebay like i did and rebuild it yourself. I pulled the whole rebuild off for around 120 bucks..it was simple and now it feels brand new.

definitly need a new tranny there...pretty soon u will lose reverse totally... mines started out like that....hate it when it sticks in 5th.. might as well get a new flywheel clutch and tranny that way you go with everything new and dont have to worry about tearing it all down again

if I get a tko, what kind of stuff would i need to do the swap? i know the bellhousing for sure, but what about the speedo pickup and all that other good stuff that goes with it? also, would the driveshaft need to be lengthened or shortened? thanks!
