They might be fiberglass but that does not mean they are light, all the under hood supports and hinge mount are heavy. A race weight fiberglass pin on hood will be about 20 lbs, a good carbon one might be 15lbs, compared to the stock hood those are huge weight differances.

what year is your car?
if it's 99-04 your decklid and hood are fiberglass and already not too much heavier than carbon fiber.
i don't know about the sn-95 or the 05+
a set of magnesium wheels will shed you a few pounds.......but they're pricey.

The stock weight ratio is 57% in the front and 43% in the rear. I am setting my car up for roadracing as well. My car is 3580lbs. with driver. so that means every 35.8lbs. I take off the front will even out the weight ratio. Dont take any weight out of the back, leave it there, even though you might save some weight removving the spare tire and jack, and trunk lid with a carbon fiber peice you will just make your car more nose heavy and prone to understear. I would put a tubular K-member and tubular A-arm up front. Thats a savings of 45lbs. now its more like 55.5% front... 45.5% rear. Get a carbon fiber hood, thats like 20lbs. savings. now its 55% front 45% rear. Than move the battery in the trunk over the passenger rear tire. The battery weighs roughly 40lbs, I heard and its really like moving 60lbs. So now its a bit like 53%/ 47%. I put a fiberglass racing shell for the driver seat that saved me about 30lbs, but thats in the middle of the car, so mabye about 15lbs savings up front. Then you can add wieght to the rear to make it perfectly 50%50%

also a almost empty tank of gas will make a difference than a full tank of gas. It will upset your weight ratio. I think a full tank is like 93lbs. and an empty would be like 5lbs. gas weighs about 6lbs. a gallon so I havce heard, I may be wrong. I heard between 5.5-6.5lbs. a gallon.

ahhh yes, how can I forget. Buy a cobra block, 96-2002 its aluminum, versus our cast Iron. that will save you 80lbs. up front. Thats a huge difference. Then you will be almost perfect 50% up front and 50% in the rear. after all that I mentioned up top
