it's 8 then I tried tracing the wire today couldn't get all that far didn't wanna cut to much wire loom and I'm partially color blind so finding wires is a bitch

Did you get one code or more? You should have P0308 for that cylinder. Any P0300 code? I'm with the plug camp. If no coil works there I'd say plug or possibly harness. 50K on the car, the harness should be fine. I'd inspect what you can for breaks or possibly melted areas on the wiring.

I had misfires on 3 and 5 for about two months, but the problem was with my crank position sensor and my UDPs. Any mods to the car recently?

not really the rear end was worked on but my crank postion wire is sketchy from when I had the tach installed maybe it's just being a pain and I have to check that. It was odd Mustang Magic said my PCM was fried and as I was leaving the parking lot it started working, then when half the night fine now it misses only like ever 3-5 rotations. It's wierd as hell.
