Pulley Installation Q's

Pulley Installation Q's
Is this tool a good buy, or does it look like crap? I am under the impression that a harmonic balancer pulling tool is necessary for the crank pulley. I don't want to spend too much on one since I can't imagine ever using one again. If I were to install a SC later on would I use this tool? Any opinions would be helpful, thanks.

That is what I was thinking, I've this tool anywhere from $4-50, I guess what I am really asking is the $4 tool going to be more trouble than it's worth? I found a good illustrated installation instructions for the steeda pulleys and it looks pretty straight forward, I just don't understand the advantage of the $50 part over the $4 part? I hope to find the time for the install before this weekend.

it's just quality if you are trying to make a living with your tools go ahead and buy the $50 it will pay for it's self but for one time use just get a cheap one if it breaks take it back to the parts store and bitch util they give you a new one.

That looks very close to the same one that i got from Advance Auto Parts. It was $15 or so. You are going to need it for the crank and if you do supercharge your car, then you are going to have to take off the UDP's so you would use it twice.

One more installation question, I read something somewhere about needing to install a longer more durable bolt when installing aftermarket pulleys. Is this true? What bolt is it and where would I buy one?

I dont know about the bolt. but I know autozone rents tools for free and I know they have alot of pullers. You just need to give them a deposit and then when you return the tool you get it back. So its free.
