Mach 1 vs 2004 GTO (350hp)... According to motor trend, the Mach ran a 13.2 @ 106.7 while the gto ran a 13.62 @ 104.78 mph, and also while the 2000 T/A put down a 13.5. Our 2v aren't any match for these cars, and are have a pretty big price differance. Take the Mach1 and not even the cobra which is still a lil bit cheaper tag then the GTO, and it blows the doors off... Just my 2 cents...

2000 T/A,

Motor Trend 2003 Mach 1

2004 GTO

I have a 99 cobra with a few bolt-ons and I usto have a 02 Trans am WS6 (stock)...My cobra is faster (not by much), and just drives better...I beat most Trans Am's WS6 and Camaro's not to mention M3's and Porsche Carrera's...I love it...

Bottom line... 2v Mustang cannot touch the new Fbody, unless the fbody doesn't know how to change from 1st to second gear. If the mustang has some mods done to it, and the fbody is stock - then maybe depending on what Mustang has, but if the fbody has the same mods, the Fbody will always win. The Mustang GT, is not a T/A competitor... but, you take the 4v Mach 1 or Cobra, and it's a differant story... It will always go back and forth.

Of course the f-bodies and corvettes will beat a Mustang. Look at the difference in engine displacement. That is why I did 1 mod to my stage 2 Roush that will more than even the odds. I put on the Kenne Bell intercooled kit and am putting 400 hp to the ground. Even with the 3.27 gears.

Generally gears won't make a differance in what you dyno (actually a high gear {numericly lower} will dyno a bit more than a low gear)

How fast you want to go basically boils down to how much money you want to spend. All of these cars are very nice in their own right. I think that if I was going to buy a car with plans of never modifying it, I would have a camaro or corvette. With the endless supply of aftermarket available for the mustangs, it was a no brainer. I bought my Roush stage 2 for $35,000. It listed for $45,000 but it was a leftover and they wanted to get rid of it really bad because of the fact that the 05 mustangs are selling like crazy.

I wish I could have found a new 04 Cobra I would have bought it. That is what I set out to buy. I didn't want a used one because you know that they are all run hard. For the 5,000 price on the KB, it is making a good bit more that the stock cobra anyway. HP is right at 460 at the flywheel compared to 390 for the Caobra. As far as the look and handling go, that Cobra cannot touch this car (in my opinion) My Roush came with the 18 x 10's all the way around and has the BFG G-Force tires. 295/35/18 in the rear and 265/35/18 in the front. This car pulls over 1 G on the skid pad. It has the Roush lowering springs, revalved shocks and struts and some huge sway bars. I will post up some pics soon.
