Unless you go FI, up the compression (10.0:1 or higher), advance your timing, you don't need premium. The higher octane just prevents detonation and without the above listed mods, 87 will be just fine.

I get much better fuel economy with 93 over 87, my performance hasnt suffered at all, if anything its helped!

i have run both to see what happens. NOTHING HAPPENS. I got the same amount of mileage with both premium and regular. Run REGULAR that all you need.

i got better gas mileage with 93 vs 87
i think this is a placebo (sp?) effect. when you put the 93 in you drove differently and thought the better mileage was due to it. i call major bs on 30mpg. my dad drives 90% on the freeway and 10% city on one tank and on a good trip gets 26mpg TOPS. to add the fact that 93 octane resists burning than 87, you'd get less mpg soooo check your math or somethin

Mike is correct. It is a false statement. Your gas mileage is no different, and if it is it's a very small difference.
