Default Gear Box/ Transmission concern

I need some help with an issue i'm having. After i hit 50,000 miles i've noticed that its been getting harder and harder to shift into gears. I guess you could say it's real notchy. Reverse is real hard to get into now. My guess is the transmission fluid. I'm going to get the redline synthetic atf.

I have a steeda tri ax and upgraded clutch. I'm hoping my transmission isn't going bad.

I'd appreciate any help i can get. Thanks

I'd recommend changing the fluid also. Throwout bearing should be fine since you upgraded your clutch. Try the tranny fluid.

Does it grind any gears? If so you should prabably get one of those sincronizer kits. This should make shifting easier also.

nope no grinding just really have to force it into gear and when it gets into gear it's notchy, not smooth like it used to be.

Possibly need to adjust the clutch? Could be not disengaging all the way. Just throwing out ideals. But change the trany oil and see how that works.

I have the Ford dealer DVD shop manual and when I look up that symptom all it talks about is replacing internal components. I would definitely have it looked at. Doesn't look too good but I hope I'm wrong for your sake.

so what oil do you guys reccomend. Redline or royal purple. I've heard that redline d4 atf will help with this problem, but royal purple is good oil too.

Why don't you call the Ford dealer and ask him if this is a comon problem and he knows what it may be. I bet he can tell ya right away. It doesn't sound like just a fluid problem unless you don't have any in there.

if you have the t45 just get used to it.

it's not screwed up.....it's just junk

if you take it in and they tell you it needs to be rebuilt don't bother just upgrade to a better tranny.
