98 cobra questions

Default 98 cobra questions

just had a few questions about my stock 98 cobra:

1) what is the width of the cobra R rims
2) whats the compression ratio
3) what gears are in the rear end
4) 4 bolt mains or 2

1) Which Cobra R wheels? The 1995 Cobra R = 17x9 / 2000 Cobra R = 18x9.5
2) 9.85:1
3) 3.27
4) I would assume 2 bolt mains

are you sure about the gears? i thought they would a least be 3.55's. i thought the gt's had 3.27's but maybe im wrong. also, i was researching and found out that the cobra engines have 6 bolt mains (kind of). They have 4 bolts through the top of the caps and have 2 bolts that actually go into the caps from the side of the block. its like that on the 4 outer caps, and the center one only has 2 bolts in the top (which really doesnt matter that much).

I forgot that they had large mains.

As for gears I am pretty sure that the solid axle Cobras did have th 3.55's

im pretty sure the '98 cobra has a solid rear axle and it def. has 3.27 gears as far as ive ever seen.

757GT Do you notice the trend? Your always wrong.

And yes the 1998 was the last year Cobra to have a solid axle.

yes, the gears are 3:27's. I changed mine out to 3:73's.
